Updated description of ผู้ป่วยโรคหัวใจและหลอดเลือด from
จำนวนผู้ป่วยโรคหัวใจและหลอดเลือด
toโรคหลอดเลือดหัวใจส่วนใหญ่เกิดจากไขมันและเนื้อเยื่อสะสมในผนังของหลอดเลือด ทำให้เยื่อบุผนังหลอดเลือดชั้นในตำแหน่งนั้นหนาตัวขึ้น ทำให้หลอดเลือดมีการตีบแคบลง ทำให้เลือดซึ่งนำออกซิเจนไหลผ่านได้น้อยลง ส่งผลให้เลือดไหลไปเลี้ยงกล้ามเนื้อหัวใจได้ไม่เพียงพอ จนเกิดภาวะกล้ามเนื้อหัวใจขาดเลือด ซึ่งจะทำให้มีอาการเจ็บหน้าอกเกิดขึ้น หากเกิดการอุดตันของหลอดเลือดเฉียบพลันซึ่งมักเกิดจากคราบไขมันที่สะสมอยู่ที่ผนังของหลอดเลือดชั้นในแตกออกและกลายเป็นลิ่มเลือดจะส่งผลให้เกิดภาวะกล้ามเนื้อหัวใจตายเฉียบพลันอันนำไปสู่ภาวะแทรกซ้อนต่างๆ หรือเสียชีวิตกะทันหันได้
